ABOUT ME
My name is Hoang Pham, and I'm originally from Hanoi, Vietnam's vibrant capital city. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) in Hanoi, which I completed in April, 2023. Most recently, I earned my Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) at the Joensuu campus, with my degree officially completed on December 31, 2025.
Throughout my education and career, I have paid consistently focus on building skills required for developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications. During my Bachelor's thesis, I developed a Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) system that combined low-level visual features with high-level semantic representations. I further enhanced retrieval performance using relevance feedback with Active-SVM, enabling the system to iteratively learn from user judgments and improve ranking quality. This work strengthened my foundation in computer vision and feature engineering.
Building on this background, my Master's thesis shifted toward speech deepfake source tracing, where I designed an interpretable deep learning framework using Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks. Through this work, I deepened my expertise in deep learning, speech processing, and model interpretability — areas that are increasingly critical in modern AI systems.
Professionally, I have worked in building real-world AI systems. I developed and deployed end-to-end document information extraction pipelines using YOLO and DBNet, integrating models into backend APIs with FastAPI and Docker for RPA workflows. This experience strengthened my ability to deliver scalable, real-world AI solutions that create practical business impact.
Recently, my focus has expanded toward Large Language Models (LLMs) by actively exploring and building LLM-based applications using the Hugging Face ecosystem and LangChain, deepening my understanding of prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic AI. Looking ahead, I aim to strengthen my expertise in LLM deployment and MLOps practices, with the goal of building robust and reliable AI systems.

My Volunteer Journey
Volunteering has been a passion of mine since high school. My journey began in 2015 when I joined the Bare Foot Friends (BFF) volunteer group. Together with my fellow members, we shared many meaningful experiences, from organizing fundraising sales to visiting orphanages and centers for disabled children. Although our gifts were modest, the joy and warmth we exchanged made every visit deeply rewarding.
In 2017 , I took my first trip to a nursing home, where elderly residents with serious illnesses relied on social care services. The experience left a lasting impression on me and strengthened my desire to contribute more.
In 2019 , I joined Volunteer for Education Organization (VEO), a well-established organization dedicated to providing educational support for children in remote areas lacking proper learning conditions. Through this program, I enhanced my skills by preparing lesson plans and educational materials, ensuring that the children gained essential knowledge about the modern world.
Although my busy study and work schedule now limits my ability to participate in volunteer trips, I continue contributing by donating blood every year. I believe that if everyone takes part in volunteering, we can build a happier, more compassionate world together.
